June 5th: WILL EASTER & THE STRAYS

Will Easter has always been a creator. “I love seeing something come from nothing” he states as if it’s the most true thing he knows. Art, construction, or music, Will’s hands have alway been creating. Though raised in a musical family, Will wasn’t always set on being a musician. It was once he began writing and performing his own songs, that Will found his calling. Songwriting in the throughline between Will’s raising in a porch picking family and his love of bringing something new into the world.

Will’s music doesn’t neatly fit in any genre. His songs range from rollicking dance tunes like “River Song” that leave a crowd on its feet, to “Nostalgic Search” which feels like a gospel song being belted in a mountain church, to “Carolina Home” where he works through the complicated emotions of leaving home.

June 26th: JEREMIAH'S REVOLVING ORCHESTRA

What is a revolving orchestra, you might ask? Exactly what it sounds like. Pulling in a rotating cast of talented local musicians, the band’s namesake Jeremiah Brown puts on a one-of-a-kind show with each and every performance.

July 17th: OLD HABITS

Old Habits got their start back in 2003 one night when Craig Thompson, Lin Peterson, Bennett Thompson and Brian English got together to pick a little bluegrass.  A duplex across the street from Raleigh, NC landmark, The Players Retreat, served as both home to roommates Lin and Craig, and the original practice space for the band. Soon after, Chad Johnson joined the group and the rest is history.

Over the next few years, Old Habits would gain momentum playing in small bars, and occasional parties.  In 2007, they recorded their first self-titled album at The Rubberroom in Chapel Hill, NC.

Eventually drums were added to the line up, and the band moved from old-school bluegrass to their current sound – a mixture of Americana, Country and Southern Roots music. Evans Nicholson joined the group on drums in 2010.
